Workshop Offerings

Girl holding rope.

The smile of achievement from a youngster who has created fifty feet of her own rope using methods of local California Indians. The accomplishment of drilling a hole in a shell with tools made of natural materials. The confidence in singing on stage as a result of gaining skills in learning a song and singing with good technique. We have provided workshops to schools in the San Francisco Bay area for many years.

See our Enrichment Flyer for details on what we provide with regard to Native American practices and beliefs. These can be folded into a variety of classes, including history, language, and science. We can also make referrals to Native American presenters, such as professional singers and dancers or storytellers.

As Ms. Swall's biography indicates, she is a highly trained musician and experienced professional performer, in addition to expertise in history and environmental issues. For those who wish assistance in producing a student-created show, such as based on the Gold Rush , she brings this background to classrooms. She knows how to direct younger students in learning a song, vocal pronunciation, creating a character, shaping a script, writing a dialog, and more. She brings along antique corsets, starched collars, quill pen, fans, bowler hats, and more items from the 19th century to further illustrate the reality of the era.
